The venue for the month of May 2022 for the Metro Manila Godo Keiko Kai will be at The Upper Deck Basketball Court. This keiko is open to all interested kendoka either based in or visiting Metro Manila. We would love to have keiko with you.

This is an online panel discussion organized by Mr. Kunihiko Sugiyama of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde for his thesis project. It is scheduled for this coming Saturday, April 16, from 2pm onward. The discussion is meant to highlight Kendo as an art, and how it is applicable for Filipinos, especially in modern times.

The UKFP is restarting the Metro Manila Godo Keiko Kai. This is a joint training session where any kendoka either based in or visiting Metro Manila can join in. Sessions are set to resume starting April 10.

How do you demonstrate Kendo to those who don't have a clue about the Way of The Sword? The easiest and quickest way is to have a partner to show the basic moves to potential beginners. When starting as a kendo study group, Maia was her dad's partner in showing the fundamentals quickly like strikes and footwork. At 9 years old she taught all about it as "playing with swords".
