Over 200 kendoka from across the country gathered at the Gameville Ball Park, Greenfields District, Mandaluyong City last October 25–26, 2025 for the 7th Philippine National Kendo Tournament (PNKT), hosted by the United Kendo Federation of the Philippines (UKFP).

A Big Win for Philippine Kendo! 🏅🔥 The Philippines made its mark at the 13th ASEAN Kendo Tournament in Singapore with outstanding performances.

Over the past month, Philippine kendoka have seen success in various international tournaments!

We have officially concluded the Kamei-sensei Seminar this weekend! お疲れ様でした！

“I’m really the ‘two takes to pass’ guy,” he shared, reflecting on his achievement. “It took me two tries to pass Sandan, Yondan, and now Godan. And more often than not, it’s the second attempt that feels like a long shot.”

The weekend of the 26th and 27th of October saw the annual Philippine National Kendo Tournament take place in the University of South Eastern Philippines Gymnasium and Cultural Center in Davao City. Kendoka from all over the Philippines as well as visitors from Japan, Malaysia, and Vietnam gather to celebrate two days of competition and grading.

The 6th Philippine National Kendo Tournament concluded with a bang last October 26-27 at the University of Southeastern Philippines, Davao City! We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Davao City Sports Development Division for their invaluable support in making this event a reality. Your commitment to promoting sports and fostering athletic excellence has greatly contributed to the success of this tournament.

The first ever Philippine Delegation to the World Kendo Championships (WKC) ends their campaign on a positive note by earning wins in all categories, though not enough (for the most part) to advance beyond the round-robin stage.

One issue in the lead-up to the 19th WKC was that we could never gather everyone in one place at the same time before going to Milan. That's the problem when our athletes are based in different provinces (and even countries!).

Today, we are honored to share a special message from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in support of the Philippine Kendo Team as we represent our country for the first time at the 19th World Kendo Championships in Milan, Italy today until July 7.
