Kata and Shimpan Workshop
Yesterday marked the successful launch of the Kata and Shimpan Workshop, held at the Aero Center, Quezon City. This event is the first in a series organized through the collaborative efforts of the Training & Development Committee and the Technical Committee, as part of a continuing development program for all UKFP members.

Yesterday marked the successful launch of the Kata and Shimpan Workshop, held at the Aero Center, Quezon City. This event is the first in a series organized through the collaborative efforts of the Training & Development Committee and the Technical Committee, as part of a continuing development program for all UKFP members.

Distinguished Leadership


The workshop was guided by our UKFP 5th Dan and above Sensei, led by Wada Akinori Sensei, Inoue Shu Sensei, Goda Sensei, Kristopher Inting Sensei, and Loida Estanilla-Inting Sensei. We were also pleased to have Akita Tomoyuki Sensei join us later in the day. We extend our deepest gratitude to all Sensei for their guidance, oversight, and unwavering support, which were vital to the success of this program.

Highlights of the Day


With an overall attendance of 30 Kendoka, participants represented IGA Kendo Club, Metro Kendo Club, and Ylocos Sur Kenyukai Kendo Club.

Morning Session:
A focused study on Bokuto ni Yoru Kendo Kihon Waza Keiko Ho and Nihon Kendo Kata.

Afternoon Session:
Covered Shimpan (Referee) fundamentals, terminology, and practical application.

Conclusion:
The workshop concluded with jigeiko, reinforcing the day’s learning through keiko.

Continuing Development


As part of the UKFP Continuing Development Program, certificates were presented to all attendees in recognition of their commitment to growth and excellence in Kendo.
