Attention Required | Updates to Health and Safety Guidelines
The UKFP BOT has made updates on the health and safety guidelines in response to the current COVID-19 situation. These guidelines are based on the current recommendations put out by various Philippine government agencies, and also based on the experience of practicing kendo over the past year (when practices officially opened).

Note that these are minimum recommendations, and individual clubs and members are free to adjust to these guidelines depending on their local situation.

Please check the attached infographics for the updated guidelines. To summarize, here they are:

- It is recommended that wearing of face masks during club practices and UKFP events is now OPTIONAL.

- It is recommended that if unvaccinated individuals are in attendance, those individuals at least should wear masks. Ideally however, all present members should be wearing masks in the above case to maximize mutual protection.

- It is recommended that all UKFP members, all members of UKFP affiliated clubs, and all participants in UKFP events should be vaccinated against COVID-19. Alternatively, one can present a negative COVID-19 test in order to join the practice/event. This must be administered and certified by a medical professional within the recommended time frame for an acceptable result.

- It is recommended that members/participants in practices/events should sign a liability waiver absolving the club/UKFP of responsibility should they contract COVID-19 from attending kendo activities.

- It is recommended that members/participants should not be allowed to attend practices/events if exhibiting symptoms of any communicable disease (not just COVID-19). Personnel in charge of practices/events should make this clear prior to the activity. If someone arrives with symptoms, it is recommended that they should be barred entry and asked to leave.

- “Normal/Pre-pandemic” Kendo practice protocols can now be resumed, though it is recommended to still limit time in tsubazeriai.

- There will no longer be any restrictions on audience attending club practice/UKFP events, though it is still recommended that interaction between members/participants and audience should be limited.

We hope that these recommendations will allow UKFP members and clubs to expand and improve on their practices and sessions while still maintaining safety. Thank you very much for your time and attention on this matter.
